GENERAL CARD CONTROL FEATURES
Gallon limits on CFN and Pacific Pride cards work only when the cards are used in unattended cardlock locations. When used in retail fueling stations, the limit can only be set in dollars and is controlled by the floor limit (minimum transaction required) of the point of sale.
Product Grade Descriptions:
Product grade restrictions only work on CFN and Pacific Pride cards when they are used in the unattended cardlock locations. When used in retail, the point of sale cannot restrict the grades on an MPD dispenser. Therefore a driver could potentially buy mid-grade, premium, or even diesel fuel.
Often, diesel dispensers are separate from gasoline dispensers, and in some instances, the system will restrict by product category (gas versus diesel). This is not a consistent; therefore, it is best to represent that, in retail locations, product restrictions will not occur and that the user will have to rely upon exception/unusual activity reporting.
Transaction Count Limits:
All of the cards offered provide the ability to restrict transactions by limit. We recommend that every card be restricted to a certain number of transactions relative to the usage of the driver or vehicle, with a minimum of two transactions per day. Exceptions to the rule include landscapers or crew managers who fill multiple vehicles.
Days of Week/Hours of Day Control:
Cards can be locked out for certain hours of the day and days of the week when employees are not working. Example: valid Monday – Friday 6am to 6pm. This is only recommended when drivers never need to fuel outside of the given range. If there’s a chance for after-hours service calls, customers should not use this feature.
Collecting odometer readings is crucial for capturing miles per gallon. The MPG indicates whether the vehicle needs a tune up, the tires are underinflated, or there’s potential theft.
Miscellaneous Code Entry:
This is a code that helps the customer identify purchases for accounting purposes. This is often used for job numbers, profit centers, and even employee-specific GL numbers.
Concurrent Transaction Control:
Concurrent transaction control helps prevent fraudulent activity. The point of sale is restricted to allow only one transaction at a time. The first transaction must be complete and the handle put down on the dispenser before another transaction is allowed.
Two Card System:
Two card systems are important if a fleet has drivers operating more than vehicle. The company is able to monitor vehicle-specific or driver-specific data, such as vehicle MPG, to prevent theft or misuse.
The vehicle card (Example: ’02 Ford F250) is assigned to a specific vehicle so the odometer can be tracked. The vehicle card also holds the product grade and gallon restrictions. The driver card is assigned to the driver (Example: Mike Smith) to ensure accountability for fuel purchases. It is set with specified transaction limits. This system allows reporting by vehicle or by driver.
Floating PIN/Driver Pool:
Floating PIN is similar to the Two Card System. The difference is that there is no physical driver card. Each potential driver has a PIN that will work with any vehicle card.
Receive email alerts when a card has been used outside preset parameters. Outside of Cardlock locations, controls are not as stringent, so we protect customers with the Unusual Activity Reporting. Alerted activities include: gallons purchased exceeding tank size, gallon consumption exceeding day, week or month limits. Transactions exceeding day, week, or month limit. Unauthorized product purchases. Purchasing outside of time of day, day of the week parameters.
Online Portal Access:
This provides online access to your account from any we-enabled device. Manage your cards: View/Download cards by card status, number, driver, vehicle, department. Manage card descriptions, change status (valid/invalid), and order new cards. Manage your activity: View/Download transactions by card number, driver, vehicle, site or department. lock out cards.
Custom Data Delivery Services

OTHER PRODUCT FEATURES
Tax Exempt Purchasing:
A key element of commercial fueling programs is the ability to purchase fuel exempt from federal or state excise taxes, if their status allows. This saves the company from having to file for a refund on their tax returns at the end of year.
GPS integration equips managers/owners with the tools they need to control their fleets. The system records the longitude/latitude of the site at which fuel is purchased and reconciles the coordinates with the actual location of the vehicle at the time of purchase. If there is a discrepancy, an email is sent to the appropriate party.
